Pete was a Licensed General Contractor and Custom Home Builder.

Pete joined Showcase in May 1994 as a carpenter, and quickly learned his craft to progress to lead carpenter. His leadership skills were apparent from the start, and soon he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent. When Showcase started Braxton Gardens, Pete was promoted to Superintendent and was in charge of not just building one home, but assumed all responsibilities of the operations within the subdivision. Pete immersed himself in the technical aspects of his jobs and passed the NC State Licensing for his General Contractors License.

Attending national builder shows and National Association of Home Builders training and seminars, Pete continued to improve himself and was soon building custom homes in Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Wake, and Moore County. Pete, as a golfer, always enjoyed building in Pinehurst as it gave him a chance to watch and learn from some of the great golfers that pass through the Country Club.

When he built Westerfield Farms subdivision, he volunteered for the Board of Directors and Architectural Committee to insure the preservation of the neighborhood and to make himself available to respond to any questions from the owners.

Pete was a very fair dealing man with his craftsmen and never hesitated to jump in and help others with his experience and knowledge when the occasion arose. Every home is a compilaton of parts and craftsman's skills, which when fit together by leadership and knowledge enabled Pete to achieve the high standard he set for both himself and his houses. Winning the Pinehurst Parade of Homes for his project in Pinehurst was no small achievement and reflected his tireless devotion to detail and professionalism.

During the fifteen years of Pete's association with Showcase, he became not just a co-worker but a friend and supporter, ever ready to give his time and effort to anyone or anything that needed his skills. He will be sorely missed, but his houses will stand in testament to his skills for years to come.

The Showcase Family is grieved that Pete has lost his battle with cancer. His years of work with Showcase Construction Co. has produced a legacy of quality homes, and we cherish the time we had with him. He will be remembered and memorialized by the work of his hands, and by the love we have for him in our hearts. Our deepest-felt condolences to his wife and family.
